December 2011 schedule

Another year draws to a close and it is time to announce the December shows for Wild Time:

December 5th 2011: Medical doctor Victoria Martindale who specialises in working with primates these days will be live in the studio to talk about the vivsection industry and why animal tests don't work.

The show also features an interview with Gawain Beste from CAFT about their anti fur protests in London.

December 12th 2011: Wild Time in conversation with Marta Curti from Whitehawk Birdwatching about eco tourism as the way forward in conservation. The show will also feature another great conversation:

Pet Hope will humbly tell you that "We are 10-20 people that came together out of love for animals. Our animal protection association was founded in April 2010. We focus on spay & neuter, education and emergencies."

How hard their work really is is often not known or understood. Here and now we have the possibility to really find out what the situation is in Romania as we talk to lawyer Ruxandra Bizera.

December 19th 2011: Wild Time is bringing you an update on Morgan the orca. A court has recently ruled to keep him in captivity and ship him to an amusement park to perform. The show explores the question whether or not there is anything that can be done for Morgan at this point in time. Lara Pozzato from the Free Morgan Foundation talked to Wild Time in-depth about Morgan.

Musicians Lisa Stern and Eric Spitzer - Marlyn will also be on air talking about their involvement in the documentary film "Yasuni - two minutes of life"

Last, but not least, Thomas Janak also recently spoke with Gerald Leedham from ecohomes UK about sustainible building and ecologically viable solutions to costs and material and more. This interview concludes this years' shows!

Merry Christmas to all our listeners, guests and everyone at TCR FM.

WILD TIME to leave TCR FM

After replying to a posting about feather extensions on the official TCR FM facebook page I have been told publicly by TCR FM on the facebook wall to "take my opinions elsewhere".

I post facts NOT opinions and have decided to leave TCR FM since they clearly don't want me there.

Remember, we still have wildtime online and the interviews and topics will keep on coming!

My aologies to all my regular listeners on TCR FM - please visit us HERE, where the battle for animal rights will continue.

No Wild Time on Rhubarb Radio

Rhubarb Radio just withdrew their offer to air Wild Time via Rhubarb Radio.

Apparently some of their sponsors felt that topics like "Bestiality" (animal abuse - sex with animals) are too daring to be explored on air.

We're very sorry that Rhubarb Radio (after agreeing to having Wild Time on their station and after meeting to discuss what the show is about)feels that way and ulitimately rejects Wild Time.

Wild Time goes out as usual via TCR FM and online.

Our apologies for making such a fuzz about moving to a second home but the decision is obviously out of our hands.

September 2011 Schedule

Wild Time will be back on air on TCR FM, who are from now on co-broadcasting the Wild Time shows that will come from our befriended radio station Rhubarb Radio, on September 19th as usual from 8pm

September, 19th 2011 – The first Wild Time show broadcast from Birmingham-based Rhubarb Radio talks to HOPE founder Anthony Marr about animal rights, climate change and overpopulation among other things.

Anthony Marr has a degree in physics and is the author of 2 books (OMNI-SCIENCE and the Human Destiny, 2003; Homo Sapiens! SAVE YOUR EARTH!!, 2008).

A long time anti-hunting activist, he led an anti-hunting campaign in Canada which necessitated him to debate 100 hunters at time over 40 times, to build a volunteer team of 1800. A wildlife preservationist since 1995, his work in India garnered him the title of "Champion of the Bengal Tiger" in the award-winning TV-documentary series "Champions of the Wild" aired on Discovery Channel and Animal Planet in 20 countries. Anthony has conducted 7 Compassion for Animals Road Expeditions (CARE tours) throughout the United States and Canada, each lasting 30-45 state in 4-7 months. He has conducted numerous high-profile campaigns against the seal and bear hunts in Canada, deer culls and sea lion exterminations in the United States.

The show also features an interview with Merit C. Merkus who is involved in spaying/neutering stray dogs in Sri Lanka via Canine Life Support

September, 26th 2011 – The Chinese Threat! While making it very, very clear that the very real threat of “the new China” to conservation and animal- as well as human life is NOT directed towards the common Chinese citizen, it is non the less crucial to talk facts about China and its impact on our planet.

Wild Time speaks to conservationist and undercover investigator Mary Perry who currently runs the Rainsong sanctuary in Costa Rica.

This intense conversation touches on quite a number of topics. For more information pls also visit the new blog

October 3rd 2011 - Save the foxes! Hunt saboteur and fox lover/advocate Paul McDonald joins Thomas Janak live in the studio!

Paul was on Wild Time before to talk about the crow and magpie cull. Listen again here.

Wild Time goes Rhubarb

WILD TIME will in the future be broadcast globally from Birmingham based station Rhubarb Radio. From Wednesday, September 14th 2011 onwards the show will be broadcast globally weekly at the same time.

Wild Time host/producer Thomas Janak lives in Birmingham, which means that his travelling time and costs are dramatically reduced and that is the reason why Wild Time will change stations.

Wild Time has asked TCR FM to co-broadcast the show in the future. Should the answer to that question be YES we will announce it on this blog.

We want to thank all non online listeners for their support and hope that all our regular online listeners will join us on Rhubarb Radio.

July 2011 Schedule

July will be yet another exciting month as we are giving you "food for thought" as we are exploring fasting and raw food diets as well as other things!

July 4th 2011 - The killing of sharks and the state of our oceans: Wild Time had the pleasure of talking to a marine expert who has decades of experience in his field. Meet Erik Brush for a down to earth conversation. When it comes to our oceans and its wildlife it becomes clear rather quickly that we need to act now or we are truly doomed. Do not miss this.

July 11th 2011 - you are what you eat!: Now this is something special and a tad extreme for some BUT fascinating nonetheless. Wild time spoke to Loren Lockman from the Tanglewood Wellness Ctr. in Panama about fasting (and literally not eating for up to six weeks) and clearing out the system. Furthermore, we spoke with the magnificient and radiant Drew McCall Burke about "living raw".

July 18th 2011 - Forbidden Archeology: What IF Darwin was only partially right? What If the human race is much older than most people think and what IF there is even proof out there to support such claims? Well, look no further. Wild Time spoke with Michael Cremo about his book "Forbidden Archeology" and his findings and much more!

July 25th 2011 - The Bhagavad Gita for everybody: On Wild Time we are quite often opening up to spirituality as a means to ultimately save our planet. Listen to a wonderful conversation with Visakha Dasi who found her calling on a mountain top in Nepal in 1971 and changed her life round 100%.

WILD TIME will be on a summer break in August and will be back on air on the first Monday in September 2011.

Wild Time Live Event June 25th 2011

After three years on air and 168 aired shows it was about time for Wild Time's very first live event, which took place on Saturday June 25th 2011 at the youth centre in Tamworth where TCR FM broadcasts from.

"A critical look at animal testing" was the topic and animal rights campaigner Jon White spoke about ethical and scientific reasons for not testing on animals.

During the event a 26-minutes DVD about alternative methods of testing was screened courtesy of the Safer Medicines Trust who were on WILD TIME not too long ago.

Although the bad weather and the halfterm meant fewer bums on seats as expected, the audience was attentive and the event lively.

More live events will hopefully follow soon.

TCR FM station manager Daniel Hoult and his mother Margaret were in the audience

Animal Rights Campaigner Jon White delivered a powerful speech

Japan Tsunami Appeal

Japan has often been a topic on WILD TIME and we have always made sure to mention that not everybody in Japan is a dolphin killer or worse. In fact, many very nice and courageous Japanese people like CFT's Kozue Watanabe and Masami Mizuguchi or SSCS activist Noro Yorakawa were engaging guests on the show.

Best-selling author Masaru Emoto (Hidden Messages in Water) will be talking to WILD TIME soon.

Like so many people around the globe, we too are shocked and saddened by the recent Tsunami in Japan and the devastation this has brought to the land of the rising sun.

While we are very happy to report that many of our Japanse friends appear to be safe for the moment we would like to ask all our listeners and supporters to help if they can by donating.
