While stores and people are wrapping up and winding down towards the end of the year, WILD TIME goes into overdrive!! December is going to be our busiest month yet!
Have a look at what's to come!
Maria Heidemann and acting legend Rutger Hauer*
06.12.2010 Part III of our 4-part anti-whaling special will feature an interview with Judith Wouters, whose 120 page dissertation about whaling in Japan provides powerful clues as to how to attempt to change the situation. WILD TIME also spoke to stilts walker Maria Heidemann (pictured), who attended the protest in Duesseldorf (Germany). Maria is currently involved in making a documentary about dolphins. She also received a special mention award for her short movie “Don Justo” by no other than actor Rutger Hauer.
10.12.2010 4-hours-special broadcast to highlight the International Animal Rights Day
Click on the picture to enlarge the content of this jam-packed special broadcast. From 12pm to 4p.m. WILD TIME will bring you important, informative and interesting footage, which includes an interview with Colin Ridell who works relentlessly to put an end to the uncontrolled killings of dugongs and turtles in his native Australia.
He works closely with Bob Irwin, father of the late Steve Irwin. Bob kindly sent us a hand-signed copy of the book "My mate Steve", which you can win on the day.
But there is so much more going on during the 4-part special. We are thrilled to announce that both Dublin South FM (WILD TIME's old home) as well as Preston FM are highlighting the day using WILD TIME material. A heartfelt THANK YOU to these great stations.
13.12.2010 – Part IV of the 4-part anti-whaling special. The final part features an in-depth interview with Mary Viriakis who organised the anti whaling day event in Melbourne, Australia. WILD TIME also spoke to activist Maik Schaffer who attended the protest in Berlin (Germany)
20.12.2010 Leanan Sidhe talks to Thomas Janak about wild and domesticated rats in an attempt to dispell the myths. Given that 95 % of all animals in laboratories are mice and rats, this conversation was long overdue.
The show also features a short interview with Karl Goodsell, who is going to spend four months as a "Cove Guardian" in Taiji/Japan, where the dolphin and whale killings are happening "traditionally" between September and March.
We will be off air over the Christmas/New Year festivities and the first show in 2011 will go out live on January 10th 2011.
In early 2011 we will have Sally Barton-Bodley and Travy Lloyds as live guests, will have a phone conversation with Allie Green from "dangerous dogs", who is advocating an end to breed specific legislation. WILD TIME supports that cause wholeheartedly.
There is more in the pipeline BUT we can't reveal all just yet!!
* - Rutger Hauer, an avid Sea Shepherd supporter, has agreed to talk to WILD TIME as well. Watch this space
